Here is our bulletin once again - I seem to remember that I chronicled all our doings up to last September in the winter magazine So there is not a great deal to add. We did have a very informative demonstration on microwave cooking, on quick and easy cakes and desserts, and on a similar subject we had a trip to Saffron Walden for a visit to a chocolate factory. Another outing we all enjoyed was the Victorian evening at Maldon, and of course our usual Christmas Dinner at the White Horse.
Now looking forward to the coming year, we have already been visited by Mr. Arthur Brooks who gave us a light hearted talk oil the "Old Time Music Hall" with music and pictures. This such a popular evening we have booked Mr. Brooks to come back again. In February we had our A.G.M. and a "Bring and Buy" Sale - this usually seems to go down well as we can then raise some funds as well as bid for some bargains in a cut-throat auction Presided over by Joan Kelly! Peter Jackson came to talk to us about all the beautiful things he makes from wood and give us the opportunity to buy.
Some of the topics we have arranged the next few months are:
10th May "Made from Bags" (I haven't the slightest idea what this it'.)
14th June Joan Williams will talk about her travels in Australia.
I'll let you all know what these were like in our next magazine, together with a run-down of the rest of our summer programme - unless some of our lady readers would like to come and ,join us and find out first-hand what we get up to.
You would be very welcome!
June Wright
