We are now into the Autumn and soon it will be Christmas. The weather forecasters tell us that we in for a very cold winter with temperatures much lower than the last few years, only time will prove them right or wrong.
The Village Hall will be organising our end of year programme soon -Remembrance Day and the Christmas Bazaar, both of which require your support.
Since the last magazine we have had a very successful Summer Fete (thanks to all), The History of Ramsden (thanks to Isabel, Frank and helpers) and The Art Show (thanks to Joan and all her helpers). Above all, thanks to all our supporters for, without them, financially, we would not be able to continue. For the new Villagers amongst us who are unaware of how the Village Hall operates, we are independent of the Local Council, in fact, we pay rates as everybody else. The Hall has the same expenses as us all- power, water, sewerage and building maintenance, in fact any running costs. All have to be paid for out of money raised by event profits, rental, donations or any other source available. That is why we need the support of all the community .
I will end by thanking Cyril Pegram and Dennis Clark (his support driver) for his epic cycle ride from Land's End to John 0' Groats in support of our charity for this year which is The Leukaemia Research Fund. We hope this year will be a bumper year for this very worthy cause with a final combined total from all sources looking likely to be around £4,000, well done all.
